Sorry for not updating in so long! Between moving into my new apartment and traveling across the country, I have been a little pressed for time. Add to the fact that we don’t actually have Internet in our apartment yet (maybe tonight???!) I feel like I have had no time to blog!!

Onto the good stuff. My APARTMENT! Ok, ok, this isn’t that big of a deal. It’s just the 3rd floor of a house.
But is MY 3rd floor.
I shower in MY shower,
I sleep alone in MY room,
I eat in MY kitchen,
at MY table.

I know I share the space with my gorgeous roomie Natalie,

So everything isn’t totally just mine.

But the fact is this: I have lived in a dorm for 4 years.

This is my first apartment.
This is HUGE.
I eat on plates that I picked out and I shop for my own food.
And I haven’t gotten a mattress yet so I sleep on the floor, which is every bit as glamorous as it seems, I promise.
I have a window in my room with a big yellow and red fall tree.
We have a lot of squirrels.
I CAN BURN CANDLES.

come visit me.

Could this be the future headquarters of Natalie and Megan?

today Natalie and I were walking along (loitering) and I spotted a FOR RENT sign. "Natalie!" I cried, "LOOK at this!" We decided to go in, since we are looking for an apartment anyways.

the house was built around 1900.
this is the window to the room that I picked to be mine!
we would be renting out the entire 3rd floor. It looks small from outside but it isn't!
These are the stairs we take to get to our floor.Could this be my possible room??!?!?

This is our bomb shelter. Safety first. So Nat and I are completely smitten. We just have some school related red tape to get though, but everyone with the administration have been nothing but supportive. Wish us luck, we would have 3 bedrooms (looking for a 3rd renter!!) a large bathroom, and a cute kitchen area. Internet will be avalibe too!

This isn't the house, but I wanted to show how pretty the sky was today over the religion building.

ciao!

a sabbath reflection.....

I LOVE TARGET. I really do, you are probably wondering where i am going with this, but bear with me. Natalie and I went to target (WHICH I LOVE) this afternoon. we agreed to seperate and contact via cellphone when we were done with our blissful browsing. as i am sorting through the accessory clearance section (LOVE IT) my perfect moment was shattered by this little girl screaming and whining at her grandmother to buy her some earrings. "PLEEEEEEEEEASE GRANDMA! WHAAAAAAAAAA!!!! BUT I WANT IT NOW!" i have heard kids whine and cry in stores before, but this one was especially ear shattering. now, maybe i cant relate to this because i was more of a bartering kind of spoiled brat but this kid blew my mind. i walked over to the bedding section to clear my head when a though hit me like an arrow:

what if that is what I sound like to God?

i stopped horrified and realized that it was half the time and that not only did he have me to listen to, but EVERYONE. instead of the "mature" 20 year old that i see myself as, when i resort to wanting something and whining to Him about it i reduce myself to a screaming crying toddler, instead of someone who is willing to JUST WAIT.

think about it.

Natalie & Megan's Fun-Fun Farm Adventure

a few weekends ago Natalie and I went to her aunts house here in Lancaster and I just never got around to blogging about it. So here it goes.

Natalie's wicked cousin Erika showing Natalie around on her motorcycle.

I know that all horses are some degree of "Large" but these are the biggest I've ever seen. Their butts were about a foot taller than me! Thats a big butt.
There was a pear tree and they were excellent. The horse agreed. (I did eventually share)
This picture still amazes me.
For 2 huge horses they certainly were gentle. Which is good, because they really could do whatever they wanted to.
The only way to make these dinosaurs look small.
there were bunnies galore!
This is Barron, quite possibly the most dignified dog ever.

And this isn't farm related, but Natalie's family took us to a historical trail to walk and we saw ths friendly little demonstration. Silly redcoats beware!
This is me rewriting the constitution. No, I will not take suggestions.Hope you all enjoyed that! Now I am looking forward to riding a big horse, and I anticipate it to be much like straddling a couch. I'll let you know how it goes.

Tonight I was almost decapitated by laundry detergent.

It was in the top section of my closet and when I shut the door it fell out and almost clocked me in the head. Of course, it isnt one of those small little jugs of suds. No, its one of the big ones. After I had time to analyze the situation and clean all the mess off the floor, I realized that there was still a ton of detergent in the jug. This is when my Starnes sense kicked in. (Starnes being my mother side of the family, known for resourcefulness and an almost uncanny need to not spend money.)
There was ABSOLUTELY NO WAY that I was going to just throw it away.
i was not shelling out another five dollars!
I AM NOT MADE OF MONEY.

so, in a move that would make my mom proud, I gathered up all of the empty waterbottles and put the blue goodness into them, by using A ZIPLOCK BAG as a funnel.

why am I even in college? I already rule at life.

I definately suggest putting your laundry detergent in waterbottles.

why?

it is so much easier to take to the laundry. gone are the days of struggling with that overfull basket of clothes as well as the huge jug of liquid.

however, I don't advise using a plastc bag as a funnel, or almost giving yourself a serious head injury.

and, as my roomate told me (because I need to hear it) "be sure not to drink it."

what a gorgeous Sabbath.

another great lunch with Jeanie. I adore her! She offered to take Natalie and I to Cape Cod in the next few weekends. Im super excited about that. It was a really relaxing day today, full of tiny little things that I had to capture with my camera phone. we also went back to Nat's aunt's and ate concord grapes and pears, and loved on the animals.

Pretty close to a perfect day, except I don't have my man or an air condtioner.
