Natalie and I haven't been out to town together for a long long time. Today was our day to catch up. I needed to find a nice outfit for Easter lunch with the Bermani's and she just wanted to spend time with me. What a gem. First on our stop was the local gas station for SLURPEES! Although ours weren't QUITE as large as the ones below.
She also bought me a ring pop. Two HUGE slurpees and 2 ringpops for $2.41. I am one cheap date.

Here we are enjoying them. If you know me at all there is nothing I like more than slurpees. (Except cupcakes, ponies, glitter, ect.)

We love them!!

Next we stopped by the bank. On the way out of that parking lot we stopped at the light until it turned into a nice green arrow for us. There was a huge camper thing turning left from across from us and it was blocking the turn path so we couldn;t turn safely. Mr. RUDE Yankee behind us didn't seem to think this mattered and he kept honking at us even though we couldn't turn anyways. We finally did turn and he yelled angrily "POTATO!!!" at us out the window. I immediately burst into laughter.

You see Natalie has Idaho tags, which you can clearly see an example of below (dont worry, this isnt a photo of her actual tag.) FAMOUS POTATOES! She hates potato comments more than anyone actually should.
Natalie isn't discriminated against because of her skin color, sex, or blondness. No, this poor girl is called a potato. That is just wrong. We all need to develop a tolerance for vegetables that are different from us. Weakening.

WHAT IS THE WORLD BECOMING?!

What a weekend. I am still catching my breath! I am a little sad its gone because I feel like I didn’t have time to really absorb and enjoy all of it. I don’t really remember what happened on specific days sort of. I will do my best to get everything in order.

Thursday:
Natalie and Eliasib dropped me off at the train station so I could ride out to Porter Station near Somerville. I hadn’t taken the train into that station before and it was a really nice ride. The conductor took a special interest in me because I think he could tell I hadn’t ridden that route before. He would check up on me and let me know in advance before we got to my stop. Very nice of him. Bobby picked my up and took me home. Pretty ordinary night. I don’t remember too much, Bob, correct me if I am missing something.

Friday: Beautiful, beautiful day!! Bob had work; I slept in and worked on some school stuff. I also pierced my own ear on my left lobe, second hole. Wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be and I feel so accomplished.

We had a party that we had been invited to that night but I really wanted to watch the sun go down before we left. By the time we got our act together the sun was already going down so we scrambled to get out to Belmont to this hill thing where you can see pretty much the entire Boston skyline. I am an idiot and didn’t realize that the sunset would be BEHIND us but the sky was getting dark and the lights flickering from the skyscrapers in the distance could have given that sunset a run for its money in beauty. There was a playground there and we scampered around like children and swung on the swings until we got a little too cold. We returned home and met up with Tom, Jenny, Natalia, and Matt (yes?) to go together to the party. It was at some of Bob and Tom’s friends house in Arlington. V. pretty apartment. I have decided that my new hobby is going to parties where I don’t know anyone. Its actually kind of fun and there is really no pressure. I just get to be Bob’s arm ornament and smile and shake hands. Life is good. There were a lot of people crammed into such a small apartment (60+?) and I liked meeting a lot of Bob’s work friends.

Saturday: Slept in again. What a lucky girl I am. Bob & Tom had a brunch meeting with the scriptwriter for their film. We stopped by the Bermani’s house to visit for a little bit and had lunch with Bob’s dad. It was delicious as usual. Bobby made me try on various motorcycle helmets and laughed at how ridiculous I looked. Later that night we drove back to my place and it began to snow again. It was a wet snow that wasn’t sticking, but it did make it difficult to see the road. I wanted to run to Target to by some hydrogen peroxide to clean my fresh ear piercing and we made it there just in time. There was a Chili’s next door so we dropped in around 11 to get some food. We were both pretty dead. The service is a little lacking that late at night so we built houses out of the drink coasters until our food arrived. This is easier said then done. We finally built one that was standing and the waitress knocked it over with Bob’s hamburger. Oh well. Went home, went to sleep in preparation for……….

"an amazing invention"
"a real step forward for engineering, and mankind as a whole."

SUNDAY!!!:
NEW YORK CITY! I woke up at 5:30 (which I guess evened out all of those days of sleeping in..) and we arrived at the studio to leave with the Art Department. There was some confusion and we didn’t end up leaving until around 8:30. I was miffed, but these things happen and my good mood returned shortly. NYC is one place that I told myself I would NEVER EVER drive in. Life is funny and not only did I end up driving, but I was also the first car in our caravan of 3. I have never really been the leader of a driving group and I actually kind of liked it. The drive was whit and beautiful with fresh snow. I figured out how to manipulate the cars behind me if they cut Natalie off so they would pass me and not break the chain. Ha-ha. I had Bobby and Elib in my car and Elib got us the entire way there with no questions. What a sharp Mexican mind! New York is surprisingly easy to drive although I bet it would be much more difficult in rush hour traffic. Parking was insane at a $25 for 12 hours.
Hopped on the subway. I was a little slow and Bob got shut in the door of the car behind me. I was laughing pretty hard and then the train started and an old lady fell into my lap. Welcome to New York! We first went to The Museum of Modern Art. Everyone sort of scattered off on their own since some of us had visited there before. Bob seemed to really enjoy it and I felt inspired as well. Lots of weird awesome stuff!

We saw a lot of really important pieces such as Picasso’s Demoiselles d'Avignon, which was the forerunner for the Cubist movement. It is about prostitutes and violence. How nice.
We also saw Van Gogh’s Starry Night, which Bob was really excited about. I didn’t know that the original was at MoMa and I am still confused about that.

I finally saw an original Klimt, which was definitely a highlight for me. There were also a lot of really out there pieces, many of which were mixed media. That always makes me very happy. I think we both left inspired. Its hard NOT to be inspired in New York City. We had day passes on the subway and although it is much more large and confusing that Boston’s system, we managed to find out way around pretty well for having no idea where we were going. People were always willing to help you get places too; no one was particularly rude to us at all. We found a Jamba Juice, which I have been craving for a few months now. Bobby had never been to the city before and I was sure he just needed to see the Statue of Liberty. I wanted to take him to the United Nations complex but there just wasn’t enough time in the day. We found Lady Liberty and walked along the water’s edge looking at her for awhile. There were street performers jumping over a pile of children and I gave them a dollar. It was a really gorgeous day.

I was craving Thai and we located a beautiful little restaurant a few miles away from the parking garage. I had pad thai (DUH!) and it was just a really good ending to our NYC day. We didn’t have a camera (except or my phone) so we have decided to go back to the city again for a weekend sometime and really explore more. I got us kind of lost on the way home, but Bob managed to find our way home anyways. We were both really exhausted. I am sure we walked around 7 miles total that day.

Life is an adventure.

Yep, still cold and snowy here.

Sorry it has been so long since an update!

So, I thought that a few amazing 50+degree weather here in New England would be the last straw for winter. TOTALLY WRONG. Amazing gorgeous Wednesday when I was lucky enough to have my darling Blob come up and see me on his hawt motorcycle. The boy loves speed, what can I say? Dog*baby was so excited to see him, less excited to see the motorcycle, which she continues to growl at even after it had gone cold. Tuesday was alright. Then there was Friday. It snowed. We decided to move my car to his parents house since Somerville sucks hard when it comes to parking. I drove over by myself from his apartment while he left from work to meet me there. The drive was pretty much awful. My car held the road pretty well (which he explained to me was because it was front wheel drive; akwats a learnng experience) and didn't give me any significant trouble aside from the "please ride my tail as close as you possibly can!" appearance of my car's rear. It is a very odd situation for a Southern girl to be driving in blinding snow in MA, stuck next to a car full of horny adolescent boys for about 7 miles, with a Mr. Potato head man riding your bum from behind. The normally 30 minute drive took closer to 90, but it was easy going and I was bored but at ease. I had my newly mixed chick-song cd blasting. Bobby beat me to the house by a few minutes and Dog*Baby and I were quite happy to see him when we finally made it there. We unleashed Piper onto Ricky and Lucy (Bermani's siamese kitties) and laughed about that for awhile. We growled and bickered at each other about movies to watch and cuddled on the couch while trying to pretend to be angry with one another. The usual. We had planned on going to Melissa's house for hot-chocolate but driving outside was pretty unrealistic with the snow still coming down and every plow on the road joyriding with their plows up. We ended up sleeping at his parent's house that night, and I think it was my first time actually being snowed in somewhere. Thank you New England; don't do it again. kthnx. weather.com says it was 0.48 inches, which is COMPLETE BULL@#$% since there were atleast 8 stacked inches on my car's roof. But whatever.

NEXT DAY: We decided to brave the still sketchy roads to get Bobbins some windshield-whipers from WalMart. WalMart was closed so we decided to head home and on the way out of the parking lot we happened to drive through a puddle. BUT WAIT it wasn't a puddle unless puddles are supposed to be almost 2 feet deep. He stopped the car immediately for fear of water getting into the motor (good to know!) So there we were, stuck in the middle of an ocean of WalMart juice with no way out without being soaked. The water was creeping into the car and pooling in the floor beneath our feet. I could feel his frustration. He hasn't had the best car luck recently and the thought of his V8 getting pwned by a super puddle was pushing him over the edge. I was silent for a moment, looking around and accessing the situation, considering waving to the few people who were driving by and staring at the two kids in the Mazda stuck in the puddle. It was not an appropriate reaction for the given situation but all I could do was laugh. Which made Bob (understandably!) pretty agitated. I really didn't know what else to do. Its like when you are scared in a horror movie and you laugh because you really are at a loss as to how to process what you are experiencing. Bob called his dad who was right down the road at his music store and we waited. Let me take a side note right now..... Bob has a younger brother named Jeff. Bob and Jeff are both fearless crazy Yankee men but they differ because Jeff is crazy. Its a good crazy, but crazy is still crazy. Jeff is a pitbull. Jeff will do anything. Jeff will beat the crap out of his friends for knocking over his bike. Jeff will run from cops simply because he can out race them. Jeff is going to be a firefighter and a damn good one. If I were stuck in a building I would want Jeff to be the firefighter coming in to get me because Jeff is freaking crazy.... back to the story. We see Jeff pull into the parking lot in his green Saab. He is still pretty far away from us across the water we are floating around in. We see him pause for a moment then slam on his gas heading straight for the water. I look at Bob with a some disbelief but he looks like nothing could shock him. Jeff hits the water and slams through it, spewing our car-boat completely with water. He makes it across and skids around to a stop facing us. It was a tension cutting moment in the Mazda because Bob and I were both laughing hysterically at this point. Bob has almost hopped out of the car into the fridgid water sooner, but I had pretty much begged him not to. No need, because Jeff was already in the water opening the hood of the car. The guys decided that the water was far enough away from the engine's intake to make starting the car safe and we backed out of the puddle of doom. Bob hopped out and they looked the car over and ran the water off of the engine. I found a dry pair of pants and shoes in the hatch for Jeff. He changed in the middle of the parking lot unapologetically. Then he hopped in his car and drove off. Bobby and i laughed some more and discussed an appropriate theme song for our hero. We drove over to The Music Place and I played the cello (if you can call it that at all) while Bob wet-vacced the car out as best as could be done. We made it home and Bob asked me to blog about the whole thing.

It was Saint Patrick's day and Bob invited some friends over. I have liked all of his friends that I have met so far and they always bring the female in their life with them so when the men head off and have man time I have someone to talk to. Tom and Jenny also showed up which made me happy. We are all pretty funny together. We watches some videos on youtube, made Dana wear fake teeth, and Bob played the violin for us some.Piper was pretty much obnoxious to handle because she didn't want to potty outside on account of the snow. Everyone loved her though, and I have to admit that I am crazy about my dog. She ADORES Bobby and he is pretty crazy about her too. I love seeing them interact together. We all watched Casino Royal and enjoyed each others company.

Sunday morning began like I love them to: smoothies we made from frozen fruit and yogurt. I made Bob make them this time since mine "are icecream, not a real smoothie." Apparently in the North if it requires a spoon there is just no way it can be a smoothie. Atleast in Bob world. We went back to Bob's parent's house and then to (a different) WalMart. Bob bought glasses and I bought fishing line. He looks really good in the glasses he picked out. We both stuffed ourselves with swedish fish after discussing (and arguing) about food dyes they contained and their affects on various body parts. Starbucks was next and Bob was once again screwed by the man with his only 2/3rds full frappachino. So is life i guess. Atleast we can laugh about such things.

It should be 60 degrees this coming weekend. With showers. But warm is warm and warm is GOOD! There is an antiwar protest I'd like to see in the Commons and a New York trip to be excited about. The world is my oyster.

Until next blog, Ciao!

Currently, MY LIFE IS:

The Dog*Baby, Piper Magoo!
Piper's other mommy, Natalie!
What a happy family. We all went to the laundermat at 2AM because it just seemed like the thing to do. (And we were sick of washing our underwear in the shower with shampoo.)
What an ugly dog.
I like to put Piper into various machines, shut the door, point and laugh, and take a picture to point and laugh at later.
"What the hell, mom?"

YES!!!!!!! NO, I haven't been on it yet.a painting of mine thats like 98% there...
The snow here that looks like snowcone at sunset.
Bob's incestuous kitties, Ricky and Lucy.
Naughty.

That isn't everything, but it is everything that I have a picture of. Spring break is just around the corner and I am SURE it will bring with it new adventures and other things of that sort.
It was ZERO degrees here, with a windchill of -25. My mom knows how to make it ALL better; she let me know it was 66 at home today. I love you New England, but you are cold.

Top 3 countries with economic and population growths:
1. India

3. US

Japan is second only to the US in consumption level.
Japan is smaller than California.

No more knowledge for today.

-13 would be from Africa

-50 males
-50 females

-85 wouldn't be white
-15 white
